The Tour of the “Gemme d’Italia” by AIS Veneto
“There are trips that are not made with a suitcase, but with a glass.”
Thus begins the beautiful story written by the Verona editorial staff of the regional delegation of AIS Veneto during Vinitaly 2025. A journey through our peninsula on the trail of the terroir, structured around a selection of Gemme, one for each region of Italy, from the Vitae 2025 guide.
Our winery was selected to represent Lazio, and this is what Luca Ballarini and Daniele Adorno wrote about us.
Lazio: La torre a Civitella 2022, Sergio Mottura
[…] Moving from Montefalco towards the southwest along the Umbrian borders, past the artificial lake of Corbara, you arrive in Lazio in a border area called Tuscia, anciently inhabited by the fascinating and mysterious Etruscan people. Here in Civitella d’Agliano, in the province of Viterbo, the Sergio Mottura winery has focused all its production on Grechetto, which reaches its most sublime versions thanks to a special territory surrounded by Lake Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Italy, the valley where Civita di Bagnoregio stands silent and ghostly on a tuff hill, and the Tiber valley. The basalt, the clay, the refinement in barriques by Louis Fabrice Latour in the tuff cellar adjacent to the Monaldeschi tower in Civitella, from which the wine takes its name, forge freshness and flavor in which are set – like precious gems – notes of tropical fruit, saltiness and honey.
Thanks to the authors and to all our friends of AIS Veneto.
